On November 8, Dr. Christiane Naumann, Project Manager of the German-China Association (DCG), and Ms. Wang Congcong, the Association's representative in China, visited our University. Zhou Gengsheng, Executive Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and Vice President, warmly received the delegation, accompanied by Tao Chunyan from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Hu Xiamin, Dean of the School of Civil Engineering, Wang Xibin, Secretary of the General Party Branch, Yu Qingquan, Vice Dean of the School of Civil Engineering, Li Yiping, Vice Dean of the School of Law and Business, Hou Yuying, Vice Dean of the School of Civil Engineering, Bai Dongmei, Assistant Dean, and Wang Qiaoyun, Office Director, with Vice Dean Yu Qingquan presiding over the symposium.

Zhou Gengsheng extended a warm welcome to the delegation and emphasized the University's high regard for Sino-German cooperation. During the meeting, he introduced the University's history, distinctive disciplines, talent cultivation, research, and international exchanges, and noted that the University has consistently focused on cultivating applied talents, an educational philosophy that aligns closely with Leipzig University of Applied Sciences. He expressed hope for broader exchanges between the two institutions and anticipated that this visit would allow both parties to identify key areas of collaboration and explore partnership pathways. By deepening their relationship and seizing new opportunities in high-quality development and high-level openness in higher education, he aimed for mutual progress in discipline construction, talent cultivation, and faculty-student exchange, thereby injecting new vitality into Sino-German relations.

Dr. Christiane Naumann highly commended the unique applied talent cultivation model developed by our University throughout its history and expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the meticulous arrangements made for the delegation’s visit. She stated that upon her return to Germany, she would provide a dedicated report to Leipzig University of Applied Sciences regarding her insights and gains from the visit, and she looks forward to fruitful results from the comprehensive cooperation between the two institutions in the future.

Representatives of faculty and students from the School of Civil Engineering engaged in a dialogue with the delegation from the German-China Association (DCG), holding in-depth discussions regarding international cooperative education between the two institutions.

Following the exchange, Dr. Christiane Naumann delivered a presentation to our students on studying in Germany, covering topics such as joint master’s programs, visa services, fee structures, life in Germany, and employment opportunities. She also engaged in a vibrant interactive session with the students.
