Hey, students of the School ofCivil Engineering, have you ever found yourself unable to findmarkings on the blueprints of your studies or lost at the crossroadsof your career? That anxiety and confusion can feel like thick fog ona construction site, weighing down your heart and making every step achallenge. We understand that the path to growth is never a smoothone; sometimes we are as steady as pile foundations, and at othertimes as tangled as unfastened rebars, but every state is anessential mark of your journey. This 'Clearing the Mist, MeetingYourself' activity, hosted by the School of Civil Engineering, was designed to help you use professional thinking as a compass andpeer companionship as a lighthouse to gradually clear the 'mist'in your heart and discover a clear and determined version ofyourself.

Activity Glimpses
The event kicked off with the'Engineering Terminology Emotional Blind Box', whichinstantly ignited the enthusiasm of everyone present. Studentsrandomly drew professional terms like 'foundation' and'scaffolding' along with emotional words like 'steadfast'and 'confused', using a single sentence to link their majorwith their inner feelings. One student shared, 'Rebar pairedwith Determination is like my persistence during exam preparation; itsupports me in overcoming difficult problems'. Another remarked,'Blueprint paired with Anticipation reflects my career planning;though there are uncertainties, it is full of hope'. Everyshared thought broke the barrier of unfamiliarity, and the additionof small gifts made the atmosphere increasingly relaxed.

In the subsequent 'My GrowthStructure Diagram' segment, students in groups of 2 to 3 pickedup building blocks to construct their own growth models, much likeassembling an engineering structure.

Some groups used layered blocksto represent academic progression, while others used interlockingpieces to symbolize interpersonal connections. The psychologycoordinator moved between groups, encouraging everyone to articulatetheir design concepts. Within the clicking sounds of the buildingblocks were the students' reflections on their growth trajectoriesand the warmth of mutual inspiration among peers.

Some mentioned that the'Emotional Blind Box' finally gave them the courage tovoice their internal confusion, while others shared that buildingblocks with group members made them realize they all faced similarperplexities, and the sense of mutual encouragement was wonderful. This transformation from strangers to acquaintances, and from beingguarded to open, is clear proof of 'clearing the interpersonalmist'.
With final exams and key periodsof career planning approaching, academic pressure and anxiety aboutthe future are bound to linger. Using the 'structural assembly'thinking of civil engineering as a bond, this activity allowedeveryone to explore their inner selves within a familiar professionalcontext. It helped students realize that professional knowledge canlink emotions and growth while teaching them to use rational thinkingto organize their thoughts.
Just as a strong foundation isnecessary to build a skyscraper, clarifying one's inner state isessential to move forward with determination. This is exactly themessage the activity intended to convey: empowering growth withprofessional expertise and dispelling confusion with companionship.

This event was not an end, but anew starting point for everyone to 'meet themselves'. Maythe students of the School of Civil Engineering carry the insightsfrom this activity into the future, facing perplexities as they wouldtackle an engineering challenge, using determination and courage toclear every layer of 'mist' and marching steadily forwardon their path of growth.
