To enrich students' campuscultural life and guide them in releasing stress and expressingemotions through artistic creation, the Second-level PsychologyWorkstation of the School of Civil Engineering held a psychologicaltheme activity titled 'Shaping Emotions: Colorful Moods at YourFingertips' at the One-stop Community from 11:00 to 13:00 onMarch 30. Using clay creation and photo frame design as a medium, theevent attracted 32 students and was characterized by a vibrantatmosphere and fruitful creative outcomes.
The activity broke throughtraditional psychological counseling formats by using clay and photoframes as a medium to create an immersive artistic healing space.Accompanied by soft background music, Ms. Chen Xiaoqin, thepsychological coordinator of the School, provided guidance on 'colorpsychology' and explained the positive effects of clay creationon mental health, helping participants realize that this was not justa handicraft activity, but a journey of emotional healing. Throughkneading, shaping, and color matching, participants transformedabstract emotions into tangible works. Some students used cool-tonedclay to model their favorite cartoon characters, while others usedwarm-toned clay to create delicious cakes and burgers. There werealso creative healing planets combining starry skies and smilingfaces. Among the creations was the charming character Lady Shiji, accompanied by the message: 'While there is life, there ishope'. The activity featured special 'Emotion DecodingCards', encouraging students to anonymously write the storiesbehind their creations on the back of the frames, forming a visibleemotional diary.
Participants cast votes and wrotedown messages of resonance and blessings. 'When I saw someonepiecing together a rainbow from broken bits of clay, I suddenly feltthat setbacks could also be beautiful', one student remarkedemotionally during the sharing session. Through spontaneous creation, the emotional release rate reached approximately 92%, creativepotential was stimulated, and students' social connections and mentalhealth awareness were significantly enhanced.
Although the activity hasconcluded, the colors that flowed through the participants'fingertips will continue to warm their hearts. As the event sloganstates: 'When emotions take shape, healing happens quietly'.We look forward to more students discovering a better version ofthemselves through creative expression.
