On December 9, the School ofCivil Engineering specially launched the 'Decompression Palette'activity. The psychological coordinator provided on-site guidance, explaining the benefits of art therapy and offering assistance toparticipants, with the hope that students would understand thepositive significance of art therapy for mental health.

With the assistance of the staff, participating students used their favorite colored card stock towrite down their internal frustrations and worries. Some studentsused painting to visually express their usual methods of relievingstress, while others wrote their recent wishes and blessings forothers on the colored cards. These were then attached to atransparent film; when the sunlight shone through, it created a warmand comforting glow.

During the activity, we noticedthat many students came with their friends. Through the process ofpainting, they learned about each other's previously unspokentroubles and took the initiative to offer care and inquiries. This isindeed a form of showing love and concern!

Winter is a season often markedby cold and a sense of depression. Furthermore, with the approachingCET-4/6 and final exams, students may become anxious, irritable, andburdened by emotional stress. Through the 'DecompressionPalette' activity, we aim to help everyone find new ways toexpress their emotions and learn to cope with them healthily, establishing a connection with their inner world and promotingemotional balance and mental health.
