Tofurther deepen the development of Construction Management as a brandprogram and accelerate its digital and intelligent transformation,Professor Guo Handing, academic leader of the Department ofConstruction Management at the School of Civil Engineering, led asix-member delegation to the School of Management Engineering atNanjing Institute of Technology on September 19, 2025, for a researchand exchange visit. The delegation included Huang Wei, DeputyDirector of the Department of Construction Management; Zhou Ruirong,Director of the Laboratory; and key faculty members Wang Yuanyuan,Mao Yante, and Chen Zixuan. The visiting team was warmly received byHu Shixiang, Director of the Department of Construction Management atthe host institution, along with Deputy Director Chen Li and facultymembers Luo Min and Zhou Xiangyun. Both parties engaged in in-depthdiscussions focused on program construction.

Duringthe research symposium, Hu Shixiang first provided a systematicoverview of the development history, disciplinary positioning, andtalent cultivation system of the School of Management Engineering atNanjing Institute of Technology, and highlighted the experiences andpractices of the two core programs, Construction Management andEngineering Cost, particularly in curriculum systems, practicalteaching, enrollment and employment, and disciplinary competitions.Subsequently, both parties engaged in discussions and exchangedexperiences regarding quality control for graduation projects(theses), undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, and current industry development trends.

Followingthe symposium, accompanied by Chen Li, Luo Min, and Zhou Xiangyun, the research team conducted a site visit to the virtual simulationlaboratory of the School of Management Engineering at NanjingInstitute of Technology. The laboratory coordinator provided adetailed introduction to equipment configuration, course alignment, and feedback on teaching effectiveness. Members of the research teampersonally experienced the virtual simulation operation processes, gaining a deep understanding of the laboratory’s specific methodsfor cultivating students' engineering practice skills and digitalintelligence technology application abilities, thereby providing apractical model for our School’s future laboratory construction andteaching reforms.

Thisresearch and exchange activity has not only strengthened the tiesbetween our School and the School of Management Engineering atNanjing Institute of Technology, and established a bridge forlong-term cooperation, but also provided the research team within-depth insights into the advanced experiences of appliedundergraduate institutions in Construction Management programconstruction and digital-intelligent development. This valuableexperience will offer critical support as our Department ofConstruction Management continues to optimize talent trainingprograms, advance curriculum reforms, and enhance the quality ofpractical teaching, laying a solid foundation for the futureconstruction of the brand program and high-quality development.
