Recently,the Department of Education of Jiangsu Province released the Noticeon Announcing the List of Phase III Projects of the JiangsuUniversity Brand Specialty Construction Engineering(SJGH [2024] No. 17). The Financial Management program of the Schoolof Law and Business, the Construction Management program of theSchool of Civil Engineering, and the Visual Communication Designprogram of the School of Art at our university have all beensuccessfully approved as Phase III projects of the Jiangsu UniversityBrand Specialty Construction Engineering.
Theapproval of these Phase III projects under the Jiangsu UniversityBrand Specialty Construction Engineering serves as high recognitionand affirmation of the university's achievements in programconstruction. Attaching great importance to the application process,the university ensured thorough organization, active mobilization,and meticulous refinement. Internal expert groups were invited toconduct in-depth discussions and evaluations of the candidateprograms, focusing on their commitment to fostering virtue througheducation, faculty and teaching team development, educationalresources, student innovation and entrepreneurship training, andeducational research and reform, before the most outstanding programswere recommended for submission. To date, the university has secureda cumulative total of 24 projects under the Jiangsu University BrandSpecialty Construction Engineering, elevating the development of itsadvantageous programs to a new level.
Takingthe approval of these provincial brand programs as a catalyst, theuniversity will continue to uphold its motto spirit of "Pragmatism,Truth-seeking, Pioneering, and Innovation". By adhering to afirst-class orientation and highlighting the leadership of brandprograms, the university will fully leverage the demonstration andspillover effects of these provincial specialties. It will furtheroptimize the layout of its programs, strengthen the development ofteaching resources, drive reforms in teaching methods, and enhancethe teaching capabilities of its faculty, aiming for a comprehensiveimprovement in the level of program construction and the quality ofapplied talent cultivation.

TheFinancial Management program began vocational enrollment in 1993 andwas elevated to an undergraduate program in 2005. It was recognizedas a Jiangsu Provincial First-class Undergraduate ProgramConstruction Site in 2021, and in 2022, it was selected as both aNational First-class Undergraduate Program Construction Site and aJiangsu Provincial "14th Five-Year Plan" InternationalizedTalent Cultivation Brand Specialty Construction Site. As a nationalfirst-class program construction site, it is rooted in Jiangsu,oriented toward the Yangtze River Delta, and reaches across thenation to serve local economic and social development, aiming tobecome a distinctive program with domestic renown and internationalinfluence. The program is dedicated to cultivating interdisciplinaryapplied financial management professionals who possess highintegrity, broad vision, extensive knowledge, and strong logic. Thesegraduates master modern technological methods, excel in financialmanagement theories and practices, and possess integrated "businessliteracy, competence, and insight" to meet the demands of themodern era.
Aligningwith the functional transformation of financial management, theprogram has established two distinctive directions: business-financeintegration and digital-intelligent finance. Guided by nationalteaching quality standards, it optimizes talent cultivation schemesto develop financial management professionals in high market demand.With a focus on reforming the curriculum system, knowledge structure,teaching methods, and assessment models, the program innovatesservice-oriented teaching models and advances digital instructionalinnovation.
Accordingto follow-up surveys by MyCOS, the average employment rate ofgraduates from this program has reached 98.34% over the past threeyears. The average scores for graduate job relevance to the major,satisfaction with teaching, and satisfaction with the university are68.65%, 94.24%, and 97.32%, respectively, with an average furthereducation rate of 21.18%. Leveraging the program’s "Sino-BritishClass", ACCA class, and CIMA class, the program has broadenedstudents' international perspectives and enhanced the level of theiremployment. Employers have expressed full recognition and high praisefor the graduates of this program.
Asone of the university's first four undergraduate programs, it hasdeveloped into a flagship program within the management disciplines.With an annual enrollment of approximately 360 students, it holds asignificant position in the university's overall academic structureand talent cultivation initiatives.
Sincethe beginning of the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, theprogram has established 2 MOOC courses and 2 Jiangsu ProvincialOnline Open Courses. It also boasts 3 Jiangsu Provincial KeyUniversity Textbooks, 2 Provincial First-class Courses, and 2Provincial Experimental Teaching Centers. Under faculty guidance,students have earned one Third Prize for Provincial OutstandingGraduation Design (Thesis) and three Third Prizes in provincialundergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship competitions.
2.Phase III Project of the Jiangsu University Brand SpecialtyConstruction Engineering - Construction Management Program
TheConstruction Management program is a university-level brandspecialty. In 2016, its affiliated discipline was selected as a KeyConstruction Discipline for the 13th Five-Year Plan in JiangsuProvince. The program founded the Jiangsu Private UniversityConstruction Management Program Alliance in 2018 and passed thecomprehensive evaluation of undergraduate programs by the provincialeducation authorities in 2022, earning significant regionalinfluence. It boasts a high-caliber faculty team led by distinguishededucators, deepens collaboration between the university and industry,and steadily advances "school-enterprise collaborativeeducation". Focused on new infrastructure and intelligentconstruction, the program uses the cultivation of BIM applicationcapabilities as a key starting point. Supported by internallaboratories, external training bases, and industry-educationcollaborative projects, it has established an interdisciplinaryapplied talent cultivation system that integrates industry andeducation to meet the evolving needs of industrial transformation.
Currently,the program features one Provincial Distinguished Teacher and threeOutstanding Young Backbone Teachers of the Jiangsu University"Qinglan Project". In recent years, it has secured oneSecond Prize of the Provincial Teaching Achievement Award, as well astwo First Prizes and three Second Prizes in the Jiangsu ProvincialYoung Teachers Teaching Competition for Construction Management. Italso earned a Second Prize in both the Industry-Education Integrationand the New Teacher of the Jiangsu University Faculty TeachingInnovation Competition. The faculty has presided over one NationalSocial Science Fund project, three Humanities and Social SciencesResearch projects of the Ministry of Education, and seven provincialor ministerial-level research projects. Students have received threeThird Prizes for Provincial Outstanding Undergraduate GraduationDesigns, alongside one First Prize and over 20 Second and ThirdPrizes in National A-level competitions, such as the NationalUniversity BIM Graduation Design Innovation Competition and theNational Digital Building Innovation and Application Competition.
3.Phase III Project of the Jiangsu University Brand SpecialtyConstruction Engineering - Visual Communication Design Program
TheVisual Communication Design program is recognized as a "JiangsuProvincial Brand Program" and a "Jiangsu ProvincialFirst-class Undergraduate Program". It is one of the earliestprograms established in the School of Art at Sanjiang University, andits affiliated discipline, Design, has been continuously rated as aKey Discipline of Jiangsu Province.
Theprogram boasts one Outstanding Teaching Team of the JiangsuUniversity "Qinglan Project" and six key faculty members,including Outstanding Young Backbone Teachers of the "QinglanProject", National "Distinguished Teachers of AestheticEducation", and "High-caliber Innovative Talents".This has fostered a faculty development pattern characterized by"industry experts leading, backbone teachers supporting, andyoung teachers following". In recent years, the program haspresided over or participated in 9 research projects at national,provincial, and municipal/departmental levels, as well as 11provincial-level teaching research and reform projects, and received38 national and provincial awards for outstanding teaching andresearch achievements. More than ten textbooks, such as SketchingCourse,Introductionto Computer Multimedia Art,DigitalGraphic Creative Design and Production,BasicColor Techniques in Painting,and TypographyDesign,have been successively selected as National "12th Five-YearPlan" Planning Textbooks, Provincial 13th Five-Year Plan KeyPlanning Textbooks, Ministry of Education Excellent and PlanningTextbooks of the 11th Five-Year Plan, and "DistinctiveTextbooks". Additionally, works like Comparisonof Chinese and Western Design Arthave won the China Book Award, the Provincial Social Science Award,and the "Three Hundreds" Original Book Award.
Theprogram closely centers on serving the development of emerging fieldssuch as the cultural and creative industries of both the nation andJiangsu Province, continuously expanding its industry-educationintegration models to ensure that the talent cultivation system isprecisely aligned with industry demands. In 2021, it was approved asa national-level industry-education R&D base, and in 2023, itsigned onto provincial initiatives such as the "Yangtze RiverDelta Alliance Industry-Education Integration Innovation Research andCopyright Alliance Plan". Through joint resource developmentwith multiple enterprises, the program has established high-qualityplatforms integrating talent cultivation, product development, andtechnical research. Currently, it hosts 15 on- and off-campusschool-enterprise collaborative studios and 32 "industry-educationintegration" platforms within innovation and entrepreneurshiptraining bases. Students have garnered over 240 awards ininternational, national, and provincial competitions, alongside 54innovation and entrepreneurship projects. The program maintains a100% employment rate, with employers expressing high levels ofsatisfaction with its graduates.
