为深入贯彻落实《教育部等八部门关于加快和扩大新时代教育对外开放的意见》中的“提升我国高等教育人才培养的国际竞争力，加快培养具有全球视野的高层次国际化人才”的精神，配合学校国际化战略及人才培养方案，提升我校学生国际化意识、拓展学生国际化视野、增强学生在多文化背景下的沟通能力，我校与英国卡迪夫大学（QS世界排名152）经济学院合作，作为暑期特色课程，特开设《国际金融市场投资理论与实践课程》。本次活动是由国际合作与交流处与法商学院共同开发举办。
本次课程由卡迪夫大学经济学系周鹏博士团队全程参与，其中团队人员包括卡迪夫大学经济系系主任Dr Huw Dixon (诺贝尔经济学奖获得者James Mirrlees博士生)。
学术交流课程框架主要分为三个部分：国际优质金融投资课程（包含先进平台实操）、学术报告讲座以及教师学术交流推进会，共30个课时（45分钟每课时），活动邀请到英国卡迪夫大学经济系系主任Huw Dixon教授参加开营仪式并围绕中英间合作教育话题发表讲话；最后由Huw Dixon教授为学生线上颁发课程完成证明。
This module builds on the microeconomic theory to develop the macroeconomic understanding of the real side, the nominal side, and the international side of the economy. All relationships among macroeconomic variables, such as output, inflation, wage, interest rate, and exchange rate, are derived strictly from microeconomic principles—the so-called microfoundation, which is the models used by mainstream economists to forecast the market and to evaluate the policies.

Week 1: Macroeconomic Theory 1: Real Business Cycle (RBC) models (week 1, 8 sessions)
Understand the core of all modern macroeconomic models used by policymakers and investors. We start with labour market (a static model) and then capital market (a dynamic model), which are then combined to form an all-in-one RBC model. The real side of the economy is the core to forecast macroeconomic and financial environments.

Week 2: Macroeconomic Theory 2: Monetary Business Cycle models (week 2, 8 sessions)
Understand the concept of money and liquidity for modern economy. We start with money supply and money demand of traditional monetary economics. We will then extend the closed economy to open economy by introducing the international financial market. Then we will introduce cryptocurrency and cryptoassets, which can be a future trend of monetary economy.

Week 3: Investment Practice: Etoro trading (week 3, 8 sessions)
Start with some basics of investment, we will use our fundamental analysis (Macroeconomic Theory) and technical analysis to forecast the future trend of the international financial market (including forex market, stock market, and cryptocurrency market). I will invite experienced traders in the investment industry to share some insider’s views and techniques. Students are welcome to participate in the real-time virtual money trading game.

Professor HUW DAVID DIXON
I received my PhD from Oxford University in 1985 under the supervision of Nobel Laureate Sir James Mirrlees, and was a Professor at York from 1992 until I came to Cardiff University in 2006. I am currently the head of economics department. I have been a member of the Council of the Royal Economic Society and the CEPR, and am currently a member of the CESifo network. My research areas include the macroeconomics of imperfect competition, oligopoly theory, learning and bounded rationality. In addition to editorial involvement with top journals like the Review of Economic Studies, the Journal of Industrial Economics and the Controversies section in The Economic Journal, I have authored more than sixty papers in research journals and books.

Dr Peng Zhou
With a first-class degree in Philosophy atPeking University (北京大学) and an MSc in Economics and Finance at the University of York, I started my career in a consulting company, providing legal and financial advice for the government and businesses in infrastructure projects, such as power plants, water plants, sewage treatment plants, highways, and undergrounds. I left the company in 2007 to pursue my PhD in Economics at Cardiff University, focusing on macroeconomic DSGE modelling and applied microeconomics. Quantitative modelling and data analysis are my specialties.
After obtaining my PhD in 2012, I started my academic career as a lecturer in Economics and Finance atCardiff Metropolitan University until 2016, and I was a guest lecturer at Cardiff University during the same time. In 2016, I formally joined Cardiff University (Economics Section, Cardiff Business School) and I am now a Reader in Economics.
My research in macroeconomics, entrepreneurship and policy evaluation has been published in specialised books and peer-reviewed journals such as Reginal Studies, Economic History Review, Applied Economics, Journal of Evolutionary Economics, The Manchester School and Journal of Consumer Behaviour.
Meanwhile, I keep a close connection with the industries, providing consultancy for Confused.com, Ausnutria Dairy Co., Ltd and Peril Capital Ltd. I also contributed to the quantitative evaluation of the Welsh government’s Independent Living Adaptation scheme in 2014 and investigating the health needs of the homeless in 2016 (jointly withShelter Cymru). My published article on international trade has attracted a wide attention in the British government, and was invited to present my findings at the House of Parliament in Feb 2015. I also write commentary articles for Oxford Analytica, with a wide readership ranging from United Nations to multinational businesses.
